Whose Friend Are You, Anyway?

Throughout our life, we all have choices that could make or break us.  It's facinating how often the it's the "little things"  that put a spin on the experiences that shape us.

Have you ever considered... that you are the closest thing you have... the single best friend you could ever want?

I've always said, we are the only person who is sure to be there from the beginning of our life until the end.  So, my question... how are you treating yourself?  And how do you make yourself feel, regularly?

In the past, I can recall little "put-downs" I made about myself...  Often, I came up with witty pokes at small aspects of my physical appearance or the common, "Why did I do that?  I'm such an idiot!" remarks.  After a while, I got to thinkin' ... "what if I said that to my friend... what would they say, and how would they feel?"  Better yet, "how would I feel if a friend said that to me??!!"  Immediately, my stomach sank and I knew I wouldn't say that to someone else, and if a friend was as ugly as I was to myself back then, I would have probably ended the relationship.

It's important to remember, no one is perfect and all of us have our moments!  So, when you find yourself putting "you" and others down, acknowledge it, alter it, forgive it and move on!
