Slow Down: 3 Steps Towards Living A More Balanced Life

In this fast paced world, it's easy to want to do everything.  We can have, be and do whatever we want, right?  Instead of having it all, it seems what we are really seeking is a healthy balance of the things that mean the most.

Check out these 3 steps for creating a more balanced life:

1) What's really important?  Take a look at the big picture... Write it down.  Chances are, you are already doing or have this in your life.  If not, make more time for those things that are at the top of your list.  The only person who is going to do it for you is you, so go ahead and get started.

2) How do I feel now?  If you are feeling overwhelmed and overworked, you probably are.  Acknowledging how you feel mentally, emotionally and physically is the first step towards making life better.  Be honest with yourself, sometimes the truth hurts, but once faced can change the course of your life towards greater balance.

3) How can I create a happier life?  Let's face it, when people are happy it shows.  Living the life we love takes courage, afterall we make thousands of choices that ultimately add up to creating our life.  It's a balancing act for everyone, so make sure that most of the choices you make put you further towards your ultimate goal.

Let us remember, throughout our lives we spend energy focusing on an array of different interests, hobbies and crafts... knowing when to "slow down" or move on is crucial to living a more balanced life.  Simply tweaking our perspective and/or habits can make a big difference on the quality of our daily lives and overall happiness.

May you have the ongoing courage to be bold enough to re-exam what's most important to you, how you feel and how you can create a happier, more fulfilling life.

Many blessings,

Breaking Through Negative Self-Talk

Let's face it, we all have some degree of detrimental thoughts.  Usually, we think it's somewhat healthy, I mean afterall, at least we don't have a roaring ego, right?  Think about it... if someone said to you the negative things you say to yourself, how long would you call them a friend?  Rest assured, how we think IS important and can direct the course of our life.

Consider These Two Tips For Breaking Through Any Negative Self-Talk:

We Have The Power To Control Our Thoughts - Moment by moment, thought by thought, we are creating our own reality.  Essentially, what we think is the foundation of what we do and how we act, so protect your thoughts.  Don't let a poor self-image or negative impressions hold you back. Begin to exercising your true power!

Immediately Stop and Re-assess - Often, we harbor negative thoughts when we feel out of control.  Truth is, most of our negative thoughts are hypothethical anyway.  When you have a less than desirable outlook, immediately stop and assess... Changing your thoughts can be as easy as flipping a switch!   Dr. Wayne Dyer teaches us the importance of having power over our thoughts stating, "Change your thoughts, change your life".

Comanding the mind is a step by step process.  Be easy with yourself, a peaceful mind takes time and effort.  The next time you find yourself in the midst of negative self-talk, realize you DO have the ability to control your thoughts and "flip the switch" to create a more positive you.

Remember, controlling our self-talk is the first step to peace of mind.
