Recently, a friend and I went kayaking on Lake Ouachita and stayed in a choice spot right on the water. Amongst a sea of fancy RVs, we were surprisingly the only tent in the area. It's worth noting that I asked Spirit to help me find this beautiful site last minute. From the moment we arrived, I felt a presence with our camp neighbor who was alone. My friend and I joked for a couple of days about needing to invite him over for a reading. However, I kept blocking the energy because I was there to relax, not to relay messages from people who were no longer living. In addition, I didn’t want to freak out the man next to us, but somehow, I knew he needed a message.
A couple of nights went by, and while we were docking the kayaks, my friend made a comment to the neighbor about the biting flies. It didn’t take long for him to bring over a new bottle of Avon’s Skin So Soft. “This is the only thing I've found that works.” He was right! That little potion went into effect immediately. The next morning, I was gently awoken by him packing. Still cozy in my covers on the blow-up mattress, I stretched and looked at the time. It was 7:26 AM. Almost instantly, chills. Is this Spirit? The chills got even BIGGER, and I knew it was showtime. Suddenly, I heard in slow motion, “I love you, brother.” It could’ve been a sibling, but felt like it was one of his closest comrades. While I didn’t know anything about the man preparing to leave, I was willing to relay a heartfelt message from Spirit. My friend and I went to the camp’s public bathroom; I could feel the spirit tagging along, getting ready to spill the beans. Bathrooms are like portals for me. Once inside, I told the spirit to reveal details that only the lone camper would absolutely know to be true. I listened inquisitively and trusted the messages received. After returning to our campsite, I cautiously walked over to our neighbor and said, “Hi, sorry to bother to you. I’m a psychic medium. Do you know what that is?” He nodded openly, then I said “I’ve been feeling a spirit with you all weekend.” He slightly giggled and confirmed that he was open to any messages from the other side. Right away, I said, “There is a spirit with you that loves you very much. Does a beret mean anything? I feel like this spirit told me in the bathroom about a beret, and being in the military.” He took a step back, “I know who it is. It’s my best friend. We were blue berets in the military.” I then said, “There was a lot of emotion behind this spirit’s death... it was heartbreaking.” He agreed, and then began to reminisce: "We started camping this same spot in the 1970's, and ran a boat named ‘Skunk' together." He mentioned being retired, and that he visited often. He thanked me and expressed how much the message meant to him. Shortly after returning to my campsite, the spirit swung back by to give thanks. Later, he told me “What they did wasn’t right.” I didn’t go back to the camper, but had a feeling that he knew what happened wasn’t right, either. In all honesty, I wanted the man in the RV to leave with a sense of peace. See, Spirit still wants to talk things out. Spirit is still growing and healing on the other side, constantly looking for ways to communicate with us. I could detect our memorable camper man thinking about the experience, and I believe that our interaction changed him, even in the slightest of ways. He apparently needed that message! In retrospect, while I wasn’t looking to work on this trip to Arkansas, I was still happy to help! See Amy's upcoming event: Mediumship at the Mansion!

On the way to grocery pick-up, I felt the need to make an extra stop. Truly, I didn’t need shoes, but felt led to go inside The Shoe Department. It's interesting, the desire to go in started about a mile from the store, but why? Before getting out of the vehicle, I felt Spirit with me… it was the mom of the worker inside. Trusting Source, I went in as the only customer in the store.
Right away, I thought “yep, that’s her,” and played it cool. Spirit told me to talk to the worker about dance. Despite all the wonderful readings I've been a part of, I still have to work on my doubts. After gaining the guts to ask her if she danced… she said “no, I don’t dance,” and I said, “but did you dance when you were a kid?” Her eyes lit up and she said “oh yes, I danced all through school.” I then asked if her mother had crossed over, and she confirmed. When I told her I was a medium and that her mother sent me there to give her a message, she was in tears. Among other things, her mother expressed how proud she was of her hard-working nature, going as far as working on Labor Day. She wanted her to know how much she loved her, and that she was never alone even if it felt like it sometimes. When the message was over, she asked if she could give me a hug. She cried while hugging me, and rubbed my back saying, “I love you, Mom.” Afterwards, I prayed with her; I reassured her it’s not the end, and laid healing hands. She wiped her tears, thanked me, and asked my name. I said “Amy,” then she giggled and said “my name is Amie.” The song on the store radio sang “I will do anything to get to you..." and that’s really a lot like spirit. The woman working in the store said that just this week she saw a vision of her mother, and that her mother communicates with her sister, too. I can’t explain it, but Spirit works in mysterious ways. Looking back, it's as if Spirit saw me on GPS. Lesson learned. If you don’t pay attention, you just might miss it... but know it's still there. See Amy's upcoming event: Mediumship at the Mansion! |
