We all want our business Facebook page to brim with new "Likes", but how? Utilize these four tips for growing your Facebook business page: - Send a personal inbox message: Shoot your Facebook connections an "Inbox message" asking them to "Like" your Facebook business page. To make it easy, be sure to cut and paste the actual business Facebook page link and thank them for their support. - Share page through Facebook status posts: Social media marketing your business page link on your personal Facebook page offers another avenue for your Facebook connections to "Like" your page. Often, friends want to support us, so encourage your Facebook friends by asking them to "Like" your business page through status posts. - Ask your professional network: Engage and request your clients, service providers and connections within the community to "Like" your business page on Facebook through word of mouth, company website, literature, emails, etc. - Utilize Facebook ads: Any Facebook business page can purchase Facebook ads. This service usually cost more than $1.00 per new "Like" and allows you to market your page to very specific age groups, genders, professions, and even allows you to determine ideal customers based on their hobbies and interests, etc., if desired. Make sure you keep a running tally of who you've asked and who has actually "Like" your business Facebook page. It's also important to remember, not everyone will respond to your request; people may not respond because they don't fully understand the process, the link you've sent may be "broken" in their browser or they just don't really use Facebook... either way, through these processes, you will make a difference and spreading the word in a healthy way to your connections. In today's business world, social media marketing is a value tool best incorporate within your marketing mix. When we hold on to loss of any kind, distrust, animosity, anxiety and fear are sure to follow affecting our thoughts, health and overall relationships. Reality tells us that anything that has to do with overcoming pain ain't gonna happen overnight, however if we make continual efforts daily to push through the pain, the rewards can be priceless.
What pain could you be holding on to from the past, and furthermore, how do you think it affects your daily life? Chances are, you just cringed a little bit thinking about the wrongs that have been done; you may even feel that if we "forgive" it means that we are saying what happened was okay. Instead, what forgiveness really means is that we love ourselves, and those around us enough to break away from the chains of our past by allowing happiness to flow from within. I speak from intimate experience and would like to share with you how the most painful letter to write ended up being my saving grace. As you may know, my sister, Kristi Gwen O'Pry, has been missing since 1996... Eventually, her killer gave a full confession after being charge with another murder in 2007. Finally, after fifteen years of agony and uncertainty, Eric Mickelson was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to death in the summer of 2011. One week before the trial, from somewhere deep within, I found the strength to forgive: Dear Eric, July 13, 2011 Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my “Letter of Hope”. You have had an astounding effect on my life, although we have never met. My name is Amy O’Pry and I am the youngest sister of Kristi Gwen O’Pry. Although there is still pain… I want you to know, I forgive you. Kristi was loved… she was funny and sweet; she was a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. Eric, you and I both know the past cannot be changed… but, I believe, we do have the freedom to shape our future. Never have I prayed for anything more in all my life than to locate Kristi. Thank you for your confession, I appreciate you telling the truth. I don’t know about you, but every day, I have this ache for closure… it just stays there, hovering over my life. Eric, I am asking that we put aside what happened and all the anger, pain, sadness, loss and disappointment that comes with it… and look towards the future. Thank you again for reading this… and for your confession. My spirit now knows forgiveness. I pray that you find forgiveness within yourself to help bring Kristi home. No greater love is displayed than when what you thought was unforgivable is forgiven. Amy O’Pry P.S. Who do you need to forgive, and how can forgiveness move you forward? So, it's my birthday today... number 34, and I'm enjoying the variety this day has to offer. Growing up, I remember thinking my 34th year of life would be cool for some reason. Today, its not exactly like I pictured... yet in some ways its better.
Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age, yet somehow we grow through the experiences from our youth and beyond. It's interesting, due to the power of the internet, how easily we are able to keep up with so many people we've met along the way. One thing I've noticed is how little we've all changed through time. Oh, sure, we've matured, hopefully we're much more responsible than we once were, but it seems the core of who we are really has not changed. Today, I am thankful for who I am and the life I've created for myself. Usually, we aren't where we want to be, but Lawdy, let's be happy we're not where we used to be! ...This just feels like it's gonna be a great year! Do you want to maximize your 2012? Try this exercise: Imagine its December 31st, 2012. Look back over the year, what all have you accomplished? If you could create the year you wanted, how would it turn out? Now, I challenge you to be brave - write it down... See, when we allow our passion to create the vision, our soul speaks. Make no mistake, it takes guts to be true to yourself, and create the life you want. So, please, let me be the first to congratulate you on your successes, you've done swell in 2012!;) Amy O'Pry As a professional, have you ever heard someone say, "Leave your problems at the door"? Maybe you are the one who says it! Let me ask you, how well do you think it works? See, so often we fail to remember that we're a part of a team, designed to lift each other up and move forward together.
According to Wikipedia, "A group in itself does not necessarily constitiute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize his/her strengths and minimize his/her weaknesses. Team members need to learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential, and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond their limitations." So now the hard question, how good of a team member are you? What will you do the next time someone on your team shows weakness? Hopefully, you will let them know how special they are, and how sorry you are that they are going through this tough time. Maybe you will even ask, "How may I help you?"... Usually, the answer is "you already are." Never underestimate the power of a kind word or gesture... your team member may just have to repay you the favor. Remember, let's lift up our team and move forward together! Amy O'Pry Growing up, my mother always had her sayings... One of my all time favorites was, "You can be pretty, you can be smart, but if you're not sweet the other two don't matter". Everyday, I live by these words.
What "words of wisdom" help shape your life? Amy O'Pry How much did you grow in 2011? I mean, spiritually, mentally, professionally, how much do you think you gained in the past twelve months? For me, with the launching of a new company, and the completion of my sister's murder trial, I am drenched by lessons of wisdom and healing. No matter who you are, or what you've been through, every year yields opportunities for growth. So, what are your lessons and reflections from 2011, and how will you apply them to your life from this moment forward?
Admittedly, this past year was not an easy year for me, or my family. As many of you know, my elder sister, Kristi O'Pry, has been missing since 1996, and in the summer of 2011, after 15 long years of agony... her confessed killer was sentenced to death. (For more info, please visit www.kristiopry.org) Although, sadly, Kristi's remains were never found... her murderer's trial brought an undeniable realm of acceptance, forgiveness, and closure in my life. During the sentencing phase in August, I remember asking my business partner with FocalPoint, Karen, "will I ever feel normal again?" After looking at me with surprise, she said, "Amy... it's the WEEK of your sister's murder trial... you WILL get through this." Hearing those words, I chuckled suddenly realizing how difficult it was allowing my "naturally positive" self to feel such deep and overwhelming sadness, again. It's true; I did get over it, and I do feel better... Most importantly, I now realize how much strength it took to endure and overcome such a drawn out tragedy, overall, with a positive and hopeful heart. See, some say they could do without the trials of life... but then people like me say, "I can't imagine who I'd be without them." In unity, Amy O'Pry Does success come naturally to you? All joking aside, does it? If you're like most of us, you spend countless hours thinking about what you WANT to accomplish in your life-time, yet you refuse to do the PLANNING it takes to make it happen. Have you ever wondered why people stall on creating strategic
steps towards turning their dreams into reality? Overwhelmingly, it's FEAR that separates our desires from accomplishments. For clarity, ask yourself, "What fears do I need to address in order for me to move forward?" The greatest dreamers who ever lived knew how paralyzing fear could be towards accomplishing our life's purpose; even Amelia Earhart said, "Look your fear in the face." See, without conquering our fear FIRST, we remain frozen in a state of non-action, while our days turn into years and our dreams fade into wishes. Accomplishing goals takes work, and success is often obtained by achieving small tasks towards your greatest goals, daily. Only when we are willing to "chip away" at our plan of action, will we become driven to live our destiny with passion. So, are you willing to start facing your fears? Are you willing to ask yourself the hard questions of why you are not further on the path towards accomplishing your goals? If so, I commend you... it takes bravery to work through, and overcome, the fears of failure and success. What is worse... not fully accomplishing your dreams, or not even trying? My friend, what will you do today to start "chipping away" at accomplishing your life's purpose? I encourage you to utilize my Complimentary Build Your Dream Form to assist you in achieving your life's greatest goals. Remember, overcoming our fear is the first step towards achieving our "passion-filled" purpose! Sincerely, Amy O'Pry If we aren't careful, life's little distractions can cause our days to turn into the next without any real steps towards achieving our life's purpose. Why? Is it simply the lack of action taken towards planning that keeps us from our destiny? Seemingly, the most successful people in life live through their passion and strive to accomplish their goals by taking small steps, daily, to turn their goals into reality.
Since I've moved back to my hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana, I've become more focused and driven towards achieving my life's purpose. Sometimes, it's scary to dream your wildest dream... "what if I don't make it? Then I will be a failure" can fill our minds. Fear of failure, all too often, stops people from living their passion. Friend, what makes you feel most alive? What are you most passionate about? If you could acheive your greatest life's purpose, what would it be? See, once we begin to allow ourselves to think outside the parameters of our current situation, magic begins! It's okay to be fearful... we all have our moments! To overcome fear, I like to strategically plan through the "what if?" approach... this allows us to think "outside-the-box" without judging or blocking our creativity. Let your dreams grow on paper by writing them down! When we do get overwhelmed in the moment of "how could I possibly accomplish this lofty goal?", put aside your pen and paper and come back to planning when you are refreshed. If you had the opportunity to live your ultimate dream, would you? Are you sure? I dare you to try... I double-dog dare you! Start living your life's purpose with this "Build Your Dream" Form: http://www.opryconsulting.com/build-your-dream.html May we all find our life's purpose by living with passion!
