Three Tips For Apologizing Like A Pro

Have you ever considered the difference between an apology and actually saying, "I'm sorry"? Experts say there IS a difference!  Next time you're in a pickle, instead of saying "I apologize if I hurt you", try these three easy tips for apologizing like a pro:

- "I was wrong" - Simply put, this phrase says we take full responsibility for causing a problem.

- "I'm Sorry" - Two words that speak great volume... Most of the time, a genuine "I'm sorry" allows the offense to be forgiven.

- "I will do my best to make it better" - Tomorrow is a new day.  Each moment we recognize what works and what doesn't work is a victory.

Let us remember, no one is perfect.  We all have ups and downs that affect others... the quicker we acknowledge where we went wrong and how to make it right can determine our progress.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Amy is a fantastic leadership and communications coach! She led some training at our manager's meeting... She has a way of communicating with everyone that makes them feel involved, energized, and engaged. Her bright personality was very apparent. Everyone was sad when her session ended. I would love to attend more of her training sessions. I've already asked my company to bring her in again!”

Jennifer Bucello, Senior Corporate Accountant
